The boxing legend says that fashion treatment keeps you younger, here is what to know

The 52 -year -old Hoya Oscar Oscar champion recently shared a beauty secret that is raising some eyebrows.

“These lasers only make me younger and more cutter … sorry,” he recently published on Instagram, along with a video that received hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) along with laser treatment.

“CO2 laser + hyperbaric chamber = papichulo sexy next week,” he continued.

Although Hbot can serve as a supplement for other therapies, it is not a main treatment for diseases, experts emphasized.

Fox News Digital talked to experts to find out if Hbot is a safe aesthetic treatment.

What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

In everyday life, humans breathe the air so that the blood can deliver oxygen to the cells for energy, but that the air is only made up of 21% oxygen.

Hyperbaric oxygenotherapy works by pumping 100% oxygen in tissues, which can help heal. (Tissues need oxygen to function normally but require more oxygen after injury, according to experts.)

For a HBOT session, the patient enters a long, tube -shaped chamber that resembles an RMN machine. They are usually on the back while oxygen is pumped in the chamber for one or two hours, confirm experts.

However, Anderson added, “it is not recommended to rely exclusively on Hbot.”

Hbot has also been shown to be effective in healing of wounds, “especially in burns, infections and immunocompromated patients” and to treat carbon monoxide poisoning, according to Dr. Suzanne A. Trott, a double plastic surgeon and a general surgeon certified by the table in Beverly Hills.

In addition, treatment is often useful for improving results after surgery.

“Oral surgeons refer to patients who have had radiation for head or neck cancer and require dental extractions,” said Anderson.

Hbot comes from the radiated tissue with oxygen, which allows the body to better tolerate surgery while minimizing postoperative complications, he said.

Trott said that in his own practice, he recommends preoperative treatment and five postoperative Hbot treatments for all aesthetic and reconstructive patients, “because it really improves recovery.”

“Chronic refractory bone infections and/or necrotizing tissue infections are also approved for HBOT use, as severe anaerobic infections do not prosper in a hyper-oxygenated environment,” Anderson told Fox News Digital.

Possible anti-aging effects

According to Anderson, Hbot’s ability to reverse or abbreviate the aging process has not yet been endorsed by the governing medical body.

“The aging process is complex and we certainly know that with aging, our ability to efficiently use oxygen at the cellular level is modified,” he told Fox News Digital.

“I don’t think we are at the point where we can only guide us in the parts of our body that we do not want to grow old.”

Past studies have shown that treatment decreases cell death by maintaining and increasing the length of telomeres, which are DNA extensions that prevent cells from degrading, said Trott.

“While this makes it sound as a cure for aging … I don’t think we are at the point where we can only guide the parts of our body that we do not want to grow old,” he said.

For most people, the doctor meant, which would probably include things like maintaining the elasticity of the skin, muscle mass and the volume and color of the hair.

“We have not yet taken advantage of the HBOT power to slow or reveal the external signs of aging,” added Trott.

Precautions of side effects

Since some may experience headaches and feel -experts recommend that patients have someone who drives them home after therapy.

The FDA also warns that high oxygen concentrations can lead to explosions or fires, which have occurred in unpredented facilities.

To avoid this risk, experts recommend receiving therapy only for FDA approved conditions in an accredited installation of an experienced healthcare provider, ideally a UHMS certificate.
