Money cannot buy happiness, and these countries show it.
The first Florent Global study has determined countries where people “bloom” more.
It expands beyond the annual report of world happiness, which often highlights the high quality of life in Nordic nations, the new research is explanted in all areas of people’s lives beyond the ranking of satisfaction that are with their lives.
Researchers at Harvard University examined more than 200,000 people from 22 countries that cover the six populated continents, representing 64% of the world’s population.
Indonesia passed the list, followed by Israel, Philippines, Mexico and Poland, according to the findings published in the journal Nature Mental Health.
Then Nigeria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania and Argentina completed the top ten.
And despite being one of the richest countries on the list, the United States entered a humble number 12, just behind Hong Kong, while the United Kingdom was found in a number 20.
Researchers defined flourishing as “a state in which all aspects of a person’s life are good,” which means “a well -lived life is more than health and happiness.”
The researchers added additional facets to determine a lived life, including the happiness and satisfaction of life, mental and physical health, meaning and purpose, character and virtue, close social relationships and financial and material stability.
Indonesia is not a rich country, but it has been very classified into measures of pro-social relationships and traits, which foster social connections and the community.
At the opposite end of the stairs, Japan was the place where people bloom the least. Despite being a rich country where citizens often live until old age, it is likely that the people of Japan have a close friend.
“We are not here to say these results [wealth, longer lifespans] No matter much, or we should not worry about democracy, we should not worry about economic growth, we should not worry about public health, “said Case Brendan, a study author, according to Daily Mail.
“But it is interesting to consider that the Florent Global study raises some important questions about the possible commitments involved in this process.”
The team recognized three key findings on age, mental health and community connection, all of which are crucial in the United States ranking.
For one, the connection between age and flowering varies between countries.
It has long been believed that life satisfaction is usually higher in early adulthood, sinks in the Middle Ages and rises to old age.
However, this was not true of Florida, the most evident in the United States and other countries with high revenue. In America, the Florent factor constantly increased with age.
Mental health was also found to be a key factor. Physical health usually remains the same with age, but poor mental health returns young people, again, especially to the United States.
Researchers also found that participating in weekly group activities, in particular Church, generally promoted the ability of people to bloom.
The only countries with high revenue of the upper half of the list were Israel and Poland. Most developed countries denounced less meaning, less and less satisfactory of relationships and communities, and less positive emotions than those of the least developed localities.
In contrast, people in the countries who flourished may not have high income, but have good friendships, marriages and community participation, especially in religious communities.

“We need to find out how to foster economic development without compromising the meaning, purpose and relationships,” the study authors wrote in the New York Times.
They stated that their “work offers an opportunity to reflect on the ways in which much of the developed world may have been puzzled and explore the paths that can lead us to happiest life.”
